The Pursuit Of Happyness.

Christopher Gardner: Hey. Don't ever let somebody tell you... you can't do something. Not even me. All right?
Christopher Jr.: All right.
Christopher Gardner: You got a dream... You gotta protect it. People can't do somethin' themselves, they wanna tell you you can't do it. If you want somethin', go get it. Period.

One day I wanna look down from the top floor of the skyscraper I built. I know it’s gunna take faith and will… patience, determination, skill… brains and brawn, grace, and a heart that’s made of steel.

— Byron, from the song ‘All Part Of The Magic’.

Making major changes to the life I’m living.

— taken from ‘Underground Kings’, by Drake. Seems very relevant to my life right now. My job came to it’s seasonal end yesterday. Not to sound gay, but it was somehow an emotional year. Working surrounded by friends is fantastic at times, terrible at others. Makes it hard work. Also did a few things in the past week I wasn’t happy with myself for. I just need a complete chill out for couple weeks starting now, before starting some new work. Off to Manchester on Friday to visit one of my very closest friends at her Uni for a week. Can’t wait, just what I need.

Last thing I’m tryna be is the good guy now; I ain’t never gave a FUCK, why should I now?

— Joe Budden on ‘Downfall’. One of the greatest rappers/artists of all time in my opinion.

Everybody heard that I fuck with Dre and they wanna tell me I made it n*gga… I ain’t make shit, if he gave me a handout I’ma take his wrist and BREAK IT!

— Kendrick Lamar on ‘The Spiteful Chant’.

flights in the morning… what you doing that’s so important?

People say I’m emo, what that really mean though is though the song can’t breathe I actually make it seem so.

— Joe Budden on “Black Cloud” from Mood Muzik 4.

Never say I’m better than Hov… but I’m the closest one.

— J. Cole on “Looking For Trouble” from Kanye West’s G.O.O.D Friday series.

Just the other day we were up late discussing Iraq over a glass of champagne, how fucked is that?

— Kano on “Fightin’ The Nation”. I relate. He shows maturity levels beyond a lot of these UK artists, the same way I sometimes feel with my friends. *kanYe shrug*.

I live for the nights that I can’t remember with the people that I won’t forget.

— Drake.

Onto another topic… like how come most mainstream artists are garbage? Lack of originality, clones with popularity, no wonder why the world thought our culture faced a fatality.

— taken from ‘Exhibit Me’ by Prezzure.

Some say the sky’s the limit… I say that’s short-changing yourself.

— Joe Budden on ‘Inception’.

Jack Sparrow: No! Not good! Stop! Not good! What are you doing? You burned all the food, the shade... the rum!
Elizabeth: Yes, the rum is gone.
Jack Sparrow: Why is the rum gone?
Elizabeth: One, because it is a vile drink that turns even the most respectable men into complete scoundrels. Two, that signal is over a thousand feet high. The entire royal navy is out looking for me; do you think there is even the slightest chance they wont see it?
Jack Sparrow: But why is the rum gone?

I never cried when Pac died… but I prolly will when Hov does.

— Drake on ‘The Fear’.

XO ‘till we overdose.
